1. Introduction to sustainability
A two hour introductory course to environmental impacts associated with design decisions and what basic things designers can do to reduce these. This course takes a solutions based approach, empowering designers to start integrating environmental considerations into their design practice. Includes examples of common mistakes made when trying to go green and knowing what to look for to avoid this.
2.Life cycle thinking and decision making in product development:
A four hour course which includes introduction to sustainability but also provides more detailed examples of design strategies, material archetypes and good eco design. Participants will gain a base understand of how design decisions can be made to reduce environmental impacts and to legitimately communicate these benefits to clients and consumers.
3.Integrated life cycle based eco design strategies:
A full day course specifically tailored to the firms industry and needs covering all aspects of integrating life cycle based eco design decisions into the design process, communication tools and client engagement techniques.
