The Eco Innovators Showcase shop has been set up to promote and support Melbourne designers who are engaging with sustainability in the design and production of their products. The shop inside the old newsstand pillar is now CLOSED for winter and will re-open in October 2010 for the Christmas period. All the products are available from the online shop.We have asked to be a part of the Victorian State of Design Festival and so will open up the showcase from the 19th 24th July. We will then close up and re-open for Christmas in October.The Eco Innovators Showcase Shop is located in an old news stand pillar on the corner of Little Collins and Swanston Streets in Melbourne's CBD. We are open Monday to Friday 11am-3pm and we ALSO have a great online shop right here. You can browse from our great selection of environmentally responsible products, gift and art, order online and then get it posted to you or pick it up from the pillar shop!What's the showcase shop all about? Its a very small and temporary (six months) retail space in the heart of Melbourne CBD. All the products for sale in the showcase shop have been eco-designed and eco-produced locally. This means that the designers have considered the environmental impact of their products from the beginning to the end of its life, so that it has the smallest environmental footprint. By purchasing one of these products instead of something else, you are supporting local art and design AND reducing your environmental impact.Check out the online shop here
